Dalrymple Vineyards

DALRYMPLE HISTORY

Dalrymple Vineyards was first planted in 1987 and now has 10ha of vines, with new plantings being made each year.

Originally a mixed farm, the property is situated in the heart of the highly acclaimed Pipers Brook region of northeast Tasmania, almost equidistant from Launceston, Scottsdale and George Town.

Vines at Dalrymple are planted on sloping hills that overlook Bass Strait, the sea that separates Tasmania from mainland Australia. Facing northeast for maximum sunlight hours, vines thrive in ideal conditions, yielding grapes of exceptional quality.

On the western border of the property, an extinct volcanic crater created the rich basaltic topsoil found throughout the vineyard.

During summer, Tasmania offers the longest sunlight hours in Australia, with the days remaining cool, rarely exceeding 30 degrees Celsius.

This climate allows the grapes to mature slowly, ensuring intense flavours and aromas. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc wines from Dalrymple Vineyards utilise only estate-grown grapes, and the wines are made in our newly built winery.

Unwooded Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are intended for earlier consumption, whilst the Wooded Chardonnay and Pinot Noir varieties will benefit from medium to long-term cellaring.

Our aim is to continue producing high-quality, unique wines with intense flavours that enhance the enjoyment of foods.
