The Details

Flavours of pear fill the mid-palate, with a seam of citrus keeping focus on the long, salivating finish.
Best Enjoyed With Chicken piccata with rocket, lemon vinaigrette and parmesan flakes. Grilled asparagus pasta with a lemon sauce, black pepper and crispy sage leaves.
Treatment The fruit was meticulously hand-picked before whole bunch pressing, and then placed into a mix of new and older French oak puncheons and a 700 litre ceramic egg for 10 months. Accolades

Great velocity and detail
Great velocity and detail with this release: pure stone and citrus fruits are taut and focused on a canvas of crystalline acidity and stone. Underlying tones of soft spice, oatmeal, white flowers, lemon sherbet and nougat with a sizzling mineral focus and great precision on the sustained finish. DB 13% alc.

It's an impressive wine
This Pipers River Chardonnay from Dalrymple is complex with a measured concentration. Big love! Handpicked and whole bunch pressed, it sees a mix of new and old French oak as well as a 700L ceramic egg for ten months. Dehydrated peach, white fleshed nectarines and a little grapefruit tang get you in the mood. The oak supports the fruit with assurance and lets it speak up - nicely done. Time in the glass reveals that coveted oyster shell trait - yes! Some nuttiness raises its hand thanks to cashews with a nougat presence making itself known too. The lemony and grapefruit tang brings the mouth to water. Long, it's an impressive wine. Drink to five years+

The palate is rich and refined
Light straw-yellow hue; the bouquet shows slightly muted vegetal and 'worked' characteristics, possibly some malolactic influence, and traces of silage and sweetcorn. The palate is rich and refined at the same moment, crisp and dry with a lift of tannin chew, and a lingering finish. Good flavour concentration. A touch eccentric but not that unusual for a Tassie chardy.

Compact and layered
Aromas of white peaches, sliced apples, dried citrus peel, lemon curd and hints of praline. Medium- to full-bodied, compact and layered. Dense and mouth-filling yet delicate and smooth with rich but fresh and lively fruit. Long finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
