The Details

Tasting Note The colour is bright ruby with moderate intensity, typical of the variety. Aromas of fresh, red summer berries, raspberry and boysenberry with a savoury hint. The palate has plush textured fruit and bright acidity that makes it ideal to match with lighter dishes and as an aperitif.
Best Enjoyed With Enjoy with heirloom tomato, olive and fresh basil bruschetta; pan-fried salmon with soy-glazed bok choy and asparagus; garlic butter and thyme roasted mushrooms with potoato mash.
Treatment The fruit was hand-picked and all bunches destemmed prior to being placed in an open top fermenter. Fermentation commenced naturally after three days and concluded three days later with gentle twice daily plunging. The wine was then drained into a tank with pressings added back for one day before being racked to one year and older French oak barriques. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation during its 10 months in barrel.

Accolades

Something new and fabulous from Dalrymple
Something new and fabulous from Dalrymple... This debut Pinot Meunier is delicious and all I can say is just keep pouring. Millennials love medium-bodied wines and this is right in their wheelhouse. Only a small batch production that is to be sold on premise, this oozes good times and good vibes. The fruit is lush and best described on the back label as summer berries. Add some red plum and boysenberries and you're in business. There is a neat savoury profile that glistens and is highlighted by cola, earthiness and dried leaves. Superfine spices complement the sleek and silky mouth feel. Damn, it's tasty! This oozes chats with the one you love or a table full of small plates at that trendy wine bar. Go here, please do. Drink to three years.

A wine of character
Medium-depth and somewhat forward developed ruby to brick colour; some stemmy herbal aromas among the funk, there is an animal note among the wild berry and forest flloor nuances. In the mouth, good intensity of flavour underlined by slightly bitter tannins, but the finish is balanced and refreshing, with appetising firmness. There is a definite nod towards the Old World here. A wine of character.
